This weekend, our new Environmental Awareness Club got their hands a little dirty at the National Butterfly Center in Mission. The club sponsors, Mrs. Cornia Fuentes-Garza and Mr. Luis Dovalina led the group of nearly 30 students in planting their own garden at the center. The students also had the chance to take in some birding activities while planting the garden.
This project is more than just planting flowers; it's about creating a beautiful habitat for butterflies and birds, educating ourselves about local ecosystems, and fostering a sense of community through environmental action.
Stay tuned for updates on our butterfly garden's progress! The club will return to the Center to tend to the garden once a month.

Last week, Business Information Management (BIM) teacher Mr. Monsivais and his class led a cross-curricular activity with Ms. Barrientos’ Principles of Health Science and Mr. Ochoa’s AVID 1 classes. The BIM students created a database where they collected data from each student. This activity helped our BIM students gain Microsoft Excel skills and help our Health Science and AVID students make important college and career choices.
Thank you to our amazing teachers for leading and implementing this great activity!
